Amrit Balraj
Amrit is an avid automobile enthusiast who fell in love with cars from a young age. His earliest memories are of him riding in the back of his dad's work pickup trucks while growing up in Bahrain, which is where his appreciation of the old Toyota trucks comes from. In his spare time, he likes reading about the latest happenings in automobiles, researching obscure long-forgotten cars, and tinkering with his motorcycle.
Garage-Built Cayenne PickUp: An Abomination Or A Stroke Of Genius?
A French guy chops up his Cayenne with an angle grinder and ends up with an Aussie-style Porsche Ute
We have all seen renderings of what a Porsche Cayenne pickup truck would look like, thanks to A.I. and imaginative graphic designers. While an official model might never be a reality, we no longer have to rely on our imagination. French YouTuber Elyascars decided to use his trusty angle grinder and pickaxe to make the Cayenne pickup truck a reality. A mere seven days ago he acquired an ’03 Porsche Cayenne (955) for just 2,300 euros ($2,500), one he calls the cheapest Cayenne in France.
Piëch GT: A 1,000 Horsepower All-Electric Grand Tourer In The Making
Set to hit the road in 2028, could this flagship two-door coupe from Germany, beat the Porsche 911 EV to market?
The Porsche-Piëch connection is a deep-rooted family relationship that goes back decades and has shaped the history and success of the Porsche and Volkswagen automotive groups. Now, for those of you who haven’t heard of the Piëch name before, the late Dr.Ferdinand Piëch was one of the most influential automotive personalities of the 20th century. He was involved with the motorsports division of Porsche and Audi in the 1970s and ’80s and was instrumental in proliferating technologies such as Quattro and TDI. As CEO of Volkswagen in the 1990s, Piëch was also responsible for acquiring iconic brands such as Bugatti, and Lamborghini into the wider VW Group portfolio. Despite these phenomenal achievements, no car ever bore the Piëch name, until recently.
Iconic And Irreplaceable: The Last Air-Cooled 911 Ever Built Hits The Auction Block
Dubbed 'The Last Waltz', find out why this Type-993 is a collector's dream and of immense historical significance to the Porsche brand
Bonhams is set to auction a very special 993-generation 911 Turbo at Goodwood Revival Collectors’ Motor Cars And Automobilia. Officially named ’The Last Waltz’, it is the last air-cooled Porsche to be built and released from Zuffenhausen. An important milestone in the brand’s history, the Last Waltz was built at the factory on March 27, 1998. It’s too bad that I was only eight years old and completely oblivious to history unfolding. It was commissioned via the Sonderwunsh program for German Author Clauss Vanderborg. Jerry Seinfeld’s famed 993 Carrera 4S Cabriolet was finished and delivered on 31st March, shortly after the Last Waltz came off the line. However, the latter spent six months with the special wish wing of the brand getting specially kitted out with a bunch of aesthetic and mechanical modifications.
A Sign Of The Times: Is The Porsche 911 GT3 Market Poised To Dip?
Whether you're a prospective buyer or a current GT3 owner, this recent analysis reveals that it all comes down to the generation, with one of them being an outlier
Regardless of the generation, beyond the 911 Turbo models, the GT range is the next natural step. These track-bred cars have continued to evolve since the late 90s and early 2000s with the introduction of even more hard-core models with the likes of the GT3 RS and GT2. Given how most of these track-bred cars are limited-run models, they tend to command a premium over your average run-of-the-mill Carreras. I was curious to see how the GT3 market in particular has been faring over the past few years, given the wild ride we had with regard to pricing, through the pandemic, and here’s what I found.
Prepare To Go Green With Envy: Gunther Werks 993 Speedster Vs. Porsche 911 Turbo S
Find out how this limited-run $1.2 million restomod, stacks up against one of the most formidable Porsches on sale today
Sometimes I like imagining purely hypothetical competitions about some of my favorite things- Godzilla vs Kong, Edison vs Tesla, Autobots vs Decepticons, etc. I also like to imagine the odd supercar match-up from time to time, something I am sure we are all guilty of. The question of whether one car is better than another is a question that is as old as automobiles itself. And while we can only compare spec sheets or watch the drag races of some of our favorite supercars, some of us are fortunate enough to take it a step further.
Stealth Attack: The 911 Stinger GTR Stealth Edition Is A Carbon-Clad 992 Turbo S You Don't Want To Mess With
Conceived by TopCar Design, the likelihood of spotting this $700k+ beast is highly unlikely, since only 7 examples exist
The 911 Turbo S may not be one of the world’s most beautiful cars, but it does have a timeless appeal, and if you are lucky enough to have one in your garage, you probably spend a lot of time just admiring it. However, if you ever feel like Porsche’s vibrant PTS colors do not offer the individuality you are looking for, this is where TopCar design’s Stinger GTR comes into the picture. TopCar Design has always been about pushing the boundaries when it comes to crafting custom Porsche body kits and the Stinger GTR is a spectacular manifestation of their unique creative process.
Fifteen Eleven 914: A Restomod With The Heart Of A Cayman
With modern-embellishments, this carbon-clad 400 HP, '70s throwback is a showcase of what the 914 should have always been
Ben Mellors, M.D. of Fifteen Eleven Design, based out of the U.K. decided to do something completely different from the rest of the Porsche restomod world. While most shops are obsessed with building the next crazy iteration of the 911, Ben decided to create a modern redesign of the lesser-loved 914 instead. The result is a compact retro sportscar that looks like it was designed in the modern era, with the performance to match. It might not appeal to everyone, but it ticks all my boxes. The only parts retained from the donor car are the A and B pillars and the floor.
The RUF Bergmeister Is A Lightweight Homage To The Porsche 909 Hillclimb Race Car
Inspired by the Bergspyder, this one-off RUF is a carbon-fiber clad Speedster throwback to the '60s based on the Type-993 Chassis
The 909 ’Bergspyder’ was a race car designed and built by Porsche in 1968, for dominating European hill climbing competitions. It gets its name ’Berg’ from the German word for mountain and ’meister’ for master. It is a relatively unknown model, but the technology and innovations it fostered became the base for the 908/3 racecar. The RUF Burgmeister is a modern interpretation of the Bergspyder, created from RUF’s admiration of the hillclimb legend. Based on the Type-993 chassis and resembling a speedster body, this is a car that we wanted to touch upon despite being first revealed over two years ago at the Quail. This is because the 993-Speedster is a bit of a unicorn, and several resto-modders and Porsche themselves have been taking a dig at this format off-late.
Investment Opportunity: Heritage-Clad 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster Up for Grabs
The limited-run 991 Speedster is already pretty rare, but this 70th anniversary special has some bespoke options that make it even more collectible
The 991.2 Speedster was a limited-run special edition model released on Porsche’s 70th Anniversary. With just 3,585 miles on the ODO, this low-mileage example is one of just 1,948 Speedsters built. Set to cross the auction block at this year’s Chattanooga Motocars Festival, this Speedster comes with the optional $24,510, Heritage Design Package (XWW). The core design concept remains consistent with the 911 R or GT3 Touring: a sleek windshield, removable top, and the iconic double-bubble silhouette.
What Makes This 1967 Porsche 912 Targa Soft Window Severely Undervalued
This 912 is already rare, but this particular example has a rich back story, making it even more collectible
Some cars attain more value because of who’s owned them previously. Ali Khalil of Dodi Auto Sales based in California, recently stumbled upon this 1967 Porsche 912 Targa with an interesting ownership story. While Dodi Auto claims this was owned by the then-CEO Budweiser, we can’t confirm this. However, the documentation does reveal that this particular 912 was accepted by one Mr. Roy F. Bremenour, and originally registered under Anheuser Busch FCU, the parent company of Budweiser. This car was apparently under his ownership for several years until it was stolen in the 1980s. Eventually, it found its way into the hands of the most recent owner, who lives in central California. Ali drove to his home to negotiate a price before acquiring it. The car has been maintained immaculately. This 912 is the ’soft-window’ version with the Targa top and steel roll bar which was famously added by Porsche to add structural integrity to the body.

1-of-3 Carbon-Clad Type 993 Speedster Remastered By Gunther Werks Is Up For Grabs
With a power to weight ratio that can rival a modern GT3 RS, this reimagined 993 promises open-air thrills in a stunning visual package
The Gunther Werks Speedster is a rolling piece of art, a loving homage to the 1995 993 Speedster. The 993 generation Speedster is undoubtedly one of the rarest cars from the German brand ever. It is so rare that very few people are even aware of its existence. The company only made 1 prototype, which was given as a gift to Ferdinand Alexander ’Butzi’ Porsche on his 60th birthday. A couple of years later a dear friend of the automaker, a certain Mr. Jerry Seinfeld, requested that his 1998 993 S Cabriolet be converted into a Speedster. The company happily complied with his request, and his car became the first and only 993 Speedster Conversion.
RUF Rodeo: A Rugged Turbocharged Homage To The Wild West
With 600+ hp on tap and purpose-built hardware, the high-riding Rodeo combines supercar performance with rough-road capability
Back in 2020 RUF Automobiles introduced us to the Rodeo concept, an off-road project that looked like a beefed-up old-school 911. At the time it was just an idea that the company wanted to test the waters with. We finally got the real deal - a Signal Orange Rodeo that debuted at this year’s Monterey Car Week. We have already seen Singer’s off-road-centric Porsche restomod they named the ACS (All-Terrain Competition Study), and this is RUF’s take on the same idea.
Tuthill GT One Is A Modern-Day Hypercar That Pays Tribute To The 911 GT1
Limited to just 22 examples, the GT One is a race car for the road and the new king of restomod Porsches
U.K.-based Tuthill unveils the GT One, a carbon fiber supercar inspired by the iconic Porsche 911 GT1. Porsche created the 911 GT1 Straßenversion (Street Version) as the homologated variant of their GT1 Class racecar back in the late ’90s. Only 22 examples of the GT One are planned to be made. Tuthill Porsche, a legendary name in Porsche restorations and rally racing, is branching out to create their custom projects and collaborations with another well-known brand associated with Porsche - Singer Automotive.
Time Attack Of The All-Electric Supersedans: Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Vs. Tesla Model S Plaid
Find out how Porsche's most powerful street-legal model ever made stacks up against the Plaid when it comes to flat-out acceleration in the real world
With 1,019 horsepower, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is the most powerful road-legal Porsche ever. The Turbo GT trim packs a bunch of performance upgrades to make it more agile than the rest of the Taycan line-up. The competition in the shape of the 2024 Model S Plaid continues to hold its position as one of the quickest-production EVs in the world. While the Cyber Truck is grabbing all of the headlines currently, the Model S continues to be a comfortable and luxurious choice with the bonus of its supercar-like acceleration. Both of these EVs represent the pinnacle of EV technology offered by these respective brands, but the question remains, which one is faster in a straight line?

He is also the founder of the Selected Car Group, Denmark’s largest luxury car leasing and sales organization. As luxury cars are taxed at 150% in Denmark, leasing them is a more popular option than buying them. This makes his enterprise a highly lucrative one, which is evident in his company’s success.
This Gulf-Livery Porsche 917 Is Hiding A Fun Little Surprise Underneath
While the 917 dominated Le Mans back in the day, this particular example lets you savor the endurance race in a rather unique way
There is an adage ’’Boys never grow up, their toys just get bigger". I am not sure who said it originally, but after discovering this truly unique slot racing track, I can see how it could be true. A 1:32 scale replica of the Le Mans circuit as seen in the 1971 Steve McQueen film with the same name. This incredibly detailed two-lane track comes with miniature vegetation, pit stops, buildings, crew, and advertising from real companies that sponsored the teams that took part in the event back in the day. The best part is the entire structure is housed within a replica Porsche 917K body, with its iconic Gulf-Racing livery.
A Once In A Lifetime Opportunity To Own 1 Of 2 Singer ACS
This safari-style 911 resto-mod can be yours, provided your bank account is as bold as the car's design
The Singer ACS has been controversial since it first came out in 2021. Its rally-car-inspired looks and performance specs made a splash in the automotive world. Drawing design cues from iconic rally cars like the 911 SC/RS and the Paris-Dakar 959, the Safari-style ACS is built on a Type 964 air-cooled Porsche 911 platform. Two versions were researched and developed for a long-standing client of Singers, with the agreement that more would be built later - one for dessert rallying and one for tarmac.

Magnus Walker is one of the most renowned figures in the Porsche collector’s world. His obsession with the German brand began at a very young age when he went to the 1977 Earl’s Court Motor Show with his dad. His first love was a white Porsche 930 with the iconic red, white, and blue Martini livery. He still considers the silhouette of the Porsche 930 to be one of the most iconic in history. Over the years, his passion for the brand has manifested in a sizeable collection of vintage and some modern Porsches. His collection, which is 30 - 40 cars strong at any given time, is housed in his 20,000 square feet warehouse in L.A.’s Art district.

Porsche's Hybrid Heartbreak: Why The New Hybrid 911 Spells Doom for Tuners
While the new T-Hybrid system promises gains in performance and efficiency, here's how it presents one big challenge for aftermarket tuners to overcome
An engineer from Porsche claims that its new hybrid powertrain in the new 911 cannot be tuned. It is not a challenge from the brand for aftermarket tuners to try their luck or anything of the sort. They believe their new electric turbo system is too complicated to be tinkered with. They are however open to ingenuity and have left the E.C.U. unlocked for you to try. Tuners are a mad bunch of people and are no doubt looking forward to the challenge.
