The Most Fuel-Efficient Porsche Cayenne On Sale Today
Prioritizing gas mileage and range while not being underpowered, this frugal Porsche SUV aims to hit the sweet spot in the Cayenne lineup
Porsche’s best-selling model, the Cayenne SUV, recently got a facelift for the 2024 model year, bringing a much sharper and modern look, inspired by the Taycan electric sedan. The update also brings significant changes to the interior, thanks to a fully digital instrument console and an optional 10.9-inch passenger-side display.
Here's Why This Replica Porsche 911 GT3 RS Would Give Purists A Heart Attack
While this is technically still a Porsche, its whats under the skin of this pretend-991 GT3 RS that may be bothersome
Many consider the Porsche 911 to be the ultimate sports car, fit for daily use. While this may be a bit of a stretch when talking about the track-focused GT3 RS, the rear-engine sports car generally remains an aspirational model. In fact, despite the 991 being the first 911 to feature electric steering instead of a hydraulic unit (a feature many purists despise), it is still considered the last truly compact 911. For this reason, those who have driven a 992 GT3 RS after the previous iteration go back to the older model. One person, however, has done something that no one has ever done. Instead of buying a 991 GT3 RS, a guy over in England, decided to build one himself. Normally, Tesla-swapping a 991 GT3 RS would send purists into a spiraling rage, but there is a good reason why this particular car has received the electric powertrain. What you’re looking at here is actually a replica of a 991 GT3 RS, but more surprising is what the car started out as.
Could Porsche's Six-Stroke Engine Patent Extend The Life Of Internal Combustion Engines?
The German automaker's latest patent filings showcase two more strokes over a conventional 4-stroke engine, and here are some of the potential benefits and drawbacks of the technology
Porsche is a brand that doesn’t shy away from resorting to unconventional methods and innovative ways to improve performance. The company’s recent patent filings prove the German automaker’s dedication to keeping the internal combustion engine alive for as long as possible. Most conventional powerplants that rely on internal combustion have four strokes – intake, compression, power, and exhaust. However, according to Porsche engineers, the combustion engine can do with two extra strokes. This development is, as stated in the U.S. patent filings, a result of "continuously increasing requirements to increase energy efficiency and other operational aspects of modern combustion machines". The patents do not clarify whether this technology is for boxer engines or for conventional inline or V-engines, but it is safe to say Porsche’s newly developed combustion method is applicable to all existing configurations of the piston engine. But what does all this added complexity amount to? Here’s how this engine technology works and what it means for the company’s future models.
The Rezvani RR1: Transform Your Humble 992 Into A Motorsport-Inspired 935
With only 50 units destined for this conversion, find why this retro-futuristic interpretation of the 911 is one that should win over most Porsche Purists
Rezvani Motors, traditionally known for its armored vehicle conversions has ventured into the classic sports car market with the launch of its Rezvani RR1. When I first saw the RR1, my inner child went ballistic, because; a modern take on the iconic Porsche 935 race car of the 1970s? Sign me up! Now, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a modern-day makeover of the 935, a.k.a, the Mobydick. Porsche themselves unveiled their version, based on the 991 chassis, back in 2019, limited to 77 examples.
2025 Porsche Macan 4 Vs. 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro
If you're considering a compact all-electric crossovers from the VW Group, here's how the mid-spec variant of the Macan EV stacks up against the upcoming Q6 e-tron
Porsche’s entry-level SUV, the Macan has gone electric, marking the end of the road for its gas-powered predecessor. Meanwhile, Audi is expanding its EV lineup with the Q6 e-tron, a stylish SUV that fits snugly between the Q4 e-tron and the flagship Q8 e-tron. Both German automakers joined forces to create the PPE platform, a versatile foundation for building high-performance electric vehicles. Also featured on the 2025 Porsche Macan Electric and the 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron, this platform boasts an 800-volt architecture, and its flexible design allows for various battery sizes and motor configurations, catering to a range of performance needs.
2025 Porsche 911 Carrera
The 992.2 2025 Carrera gets a power boost from upgraded turbochargers and intercooler, optional rear seats, subtle exterior tweaks, a 12.6-inch digital cluster, and a start button.
The Carrera, Porsche’s entry-level model in the iconic 911 lineup since its introduction in 1964, offers a thrilling driving experience that combines performance, luxury, and everyday usability. This rear-wheel-drive, two-door coupe seats up to four and embodies the 911’s legacy as a true driver’s car.
Garage-Built Cayenne PickUp: An Abomination Or A Stroke Of Genius?
A French guy chops up his Cayenne with an angle grinder and ends up with an Aussie-style Porsche Ute
We have all seen renderings of what a Porsche Cayenne pickup truck would look like, thanks to A.I. and imaginative graphic designers. While an official model might never be a reality, we no longer have to rely on our imagination. French YouTuber Elyascars decided to use his trusty angle grinder and pickaxe to make the Cayenne pickup truck a reality. A mere seven days ago he acquired an ’03 Porsche Cayenne (955) for just 2,300 euros ($2,500), one he calls the cheapest Cayenne in France.
An Upgrade That Every 997.1 Owner Should Consider
While the 997 offers a truly modern-day analog experience, find out how this upgrade from Porsche Classic brings it's aging tech upto speed
I’m a fan of the Type 997, and outside of the current 992, it remains one of the best generations of the Porsche 911. Where the tech-laden 992 is ridiculously fast and a bit too clinical, the 997 hits the sweet spot between modern and analog. The 997, in general, is widely regarded by Porsche people as a comeback, as it fixed several drawbacks like poor reliability and a better interior of the infamous fried-egg 996.
The Real Reason Why Porsche Took So Long To Give Us A Four-Door Sedan
Long before the four-door Panamera debuted in 2009, Porsche almost gave us the 989 and its destiny was tied to another model
Despite Porsche making one of the most iconic sports cars of all time – the 911 – the German automaker was in financial trouble for much of its existence. It was only after the 986 Boxster and the Cayenne SUV in 2003, that Porsche managed to stave off the threat of bankruptcy. Of course, the acquisition by Volkswagen helped, and because Porsche’s lineup is a lot more diverse, for better or worse. Four-door models like the Taycan and Panamera are selling well, despite the Panamera’s recent sales drop by 25 percent.
2025 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS
For the 992.2 generation, Porsche massages the Carrera 4 GTS with a new 532-horsepower T-Hybrid powertrain and enhances the cabin with a 12.6-inch all-digital cluster plus wireless Android Auto.
The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS marks a significant evolution in the iconic sports car’s lineage. As part of the 992.2 generation refresh, this model introduces the first-ever hybrid powertrain in a production 911. The new T-Hybrid system pairs an all-new 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six with a 48 volt electric turbocharger and a transmission-mounted motor to put out 532 horsepower and 449 pound-feet. This delivers 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 194 mph. While the hybrid powertrain improves performance and efficiency, it also adds 110 pounds to the car’s weight and increases complexity. Porsche axed the seven-speed manual transmission option, so the combo of hybrid engine and loss of manual transmission will disappoint purists.
