With its hair-raising corners, elevation changes, and blistering speeds, the 13-mile Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany also known as the "Green Hell," has been the ultimate test track for any performance car. For decades, European automakers like Porsche, Mercedes, and Ferrari have dominated at what is considered the world’s most demanding race track. Cracking a sub-seven-minute lap time here is truly a badge of honor. For nearly 100 years, no American manufacturer has achieved this feat. However, all this changes with the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD’s, official Nürburgring lap time of 6:57, putting this pony car in the league of elite-performance cars. Now while MotorHeads.com is all about Porsche, Ford’s record is of significance, as it was attempted in Porsche’s own backyard.

Ford introduced its most powerful Mustang, the GTD, back in August 2023 and made it to the headlines because of its claimed 800+ horsepower 5.2-liter supercharged V8. The Mustang GTD is a more hardcore version of the already impressive Mustang Dark Horse and has a starting MSRP of a whopping $325,000, which is almost the price of a Ferrari 296 GTB hybrid supercar.

TFL Classics on YouTube is a channel dedicated to hands-on experiences with vintage and classic automobiles, offering viewers a glimpse of what it’s like to live with and daily-drive these old classics. Recently, they acquired a 109-year-old Ford Model T from 1915 in nearly stock condition. In a previous video, they drove it through a drive-in restaurant and to a closeby Walmart. This time, they decided it was time for a tune-up and opted to take their retro gem to an official Ford dealership, to see if they could work on a vintage Model T. They planned to drive it themselves through country back roads and on the highway. Here’s what happened.

The collection is so extensive that the museum even features a substantial secret collection of special cars, carefully preserved in a hidden bunker away from prying eyes. Well, that’s exactly what the folks over at Borromeo de Silva, a design studio in Milan, Italy had in mind. They have previously come up with some pretty radical resto-mod concepts, based on iconic models like the Lamborghini Diablo, the Porsche 928, and the Lancia Delta Integrale. The team’s latest digital creation is a roofless classic Ford Mustang, dubbed the STL-1. But unlike most digital renders, this concept has a true backstory.

The Chevy Corvette and Ford GT are not necessarily models that go up against each other. However, the folks over at the CarWow YouTube channel had a genuine case for why they decided to pit these two against each other. The ’Vette is America’s definitive sports car, whereas the Ford GT is the holy grail of American supercars. While most American performance cars use a front-engine rear-wheel drive layout, GM’s controversial move to ditch this setup for the first time on the Corvette with the C8 generation. It now has a mid-engine layout, just like you get on the Ford GT.
