2025 Porsche Macan Electric EPA Certified Range Figures Leaked Before U.S. Sale Launch Date

The Porsche's first all-electric SUV is set to hit dealerships by the end of this month, and we can now confirm 300+ miles of driving range on the Macan EV

Porsche’s highly anticipated Macan EV is finally hitting U.S. dealerships on September 30th. This electric stallion promises to be a triple threat: blending blistering performance, luxurious comfort, and eco-conscious efficiency in one sleek package. Before Porsche’s official announcement, eagle-eyed members of the Macan EV Owners forum discovered window stickers for two of the four available trims, the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo, revealing their EPA-estimated ranges. The 402-horsepower Macan 4 offers a solid 308 miles, while the more powerful 630-hp Macan Turbo still manages a respectable 288 miles. These figures solidify the Macan EV’s position as a top contender in the electric SUV market.

The EPA Numbers For The Macan EV Are In And They’re More Than Impressive

These figures might be a touch lower than European WLTP estimates of 381 miles, but considering testing protocol differences, they’re right in line with expectations. But based on real-world tests as carried out by Edmunds from last year, expect a potential 10-15% real-world range above EPA estimates, as Porsche is generally conservative with numbers, suggesting even more freedom on the open road.

Porsche clearly took notes from the pre-facelift Taycan’s debut. Unlike that model’s range limitations (just 208 miles on the base trim), the 2025 Porsche Macan Electric arrives at a time of significant battery tech advancements. It is one of the main reasons that early examples of the Taycan suffer from horrendous depreciation. Anyway, the Macan EV’s 300+ mile range sits comfortably within the current premium EV benchmark, putting range anxiety firmly in the rearview mirror.

Speaking of mirrors, the Macan EV won’t have you waiting long at charging stations. Its impressive 270kW capability allows for a 10-80% charge in just over 20 minutes. This rapid charging ensures minimal downtime and makes long-distance adventures a breeze. Porsche’s commitment to the NACS charging standard in 2025, is a promising glimpse into the future. Imagine seamlessly accessing Tesla’s expansive Supercharger network with your Macan EV! While this dream won’t be a reality on launch day, you should have peace of mind knowing that this one factor alone could vastly improve the ownership experience of your Porsche EV.

Here’s how the Macan 4 Electric stacks up against the competition. Do note that the cheapest Macan EV starts at $75,300.

Model Horsepower Torque (lb-ft) Battery Capacity (kWh) EPA Range (miles) Price (USD)
Porsche Macan 4 EV 402 469 100 308 $78,800
Audi Q8 e-Tron 355 (402 boost) 414 114 285 $74,400
BMW iX xDrive 50 516 564 105 309 $87,250
Mercedes EQE 350 288 391 96 302 $77,900
Tesla Model X 670 713 100 335 $65,990

With its impressive range, powerful performance, luxurious interior, and competitive price tag, the Macan Electric certainly has the potential to dominate the premium electric SUV segment. While Porsche beefed up the Macan lineup with two more trims, i.e. the aforementioned Macan base and the Macan 4S, what I’d really like is for Porsche to introduce a more off-road-ready trim. Yes, I know that they currently have an off-road package, but something a bit more substantial like the old Cayenne Transsyberia wouldn’t hurt now, would it?
