The Last Porsche 911 Turbo To Feature A Manual Transmission
This Turbo model did a lot of things right, and the stick is just one of many reasons why it is considered one of the most desirable 911s of all time by purists
Each generation of the Porsche 911 has its highlights, whether through impressive engineering or a special edition. Porsche enthusiasts no longer separate the 911 into just air-cooled and water-cooled. 911s are also separated by the level of technology they offer, and the 997 is generally considered the last of the classic, more analog 911 generations. It is the Porsche 997 that offers some of the most driver-centric and visceral variants of the rear-engine sports car, and it is the swan song of many iconic Porsche 911 features.
RWB-Style Limited-Run Porsche 991.1 Up For Grabs On Facebook
With only two more builds planned, this Indecent 005 is a rare opportunity to get your hands on a modern custom widebody 911
In a world where Porsche customization often leans towards subtle refinements, the Indecent 005 stands as a bold outlier. While the air-cooled 911 has become synonymous with wide-body kits and retro-inspired builds, most notably exemplified by the cult following of RWB Porsche transformations, the newer generations have largely escaped such radical alterations. Founded by Akira Nakai, RWB, short for Rauh-Welt Begriff, is a Japanese Porsche tuning company renowned for its wildly aggressive and handcrafted wide-body kits. While they have worked on some newer models, their core clientele and aesthetic appeal lie in the timeless design of older air-cooled 911s.
Explaining The Science Behind The 718 Porsche Cayman GT4 RS's Split Side Intakes
A feature that is unique to the GT4 RS, we take a closer look at the clever engineering behind them
Porsche provides multiple versions of all its models. It is safe to say, there is a flavor for everyone. This is especially true for its sports cars like the 718 and 911, both of which get the occasional, limited-edition variant. When it comes to all-out track performance, the mid-engine Cayman’s most hardcore variant is the GT4 RS. This track-focused 718 takes the best bits from some 911 models, including the engine, which comes from the 911 GT3. The Cayman GT4 RS is much more than a lightened, stiffened Cayman GT4. Porsche has gone above and beyond in pursuit of creating the ultimate, mid-engine track monster. Among the numerous distinctive features of the Cayman GT4 RS are the air intakes, unique to the model. There are a few good reasons why Porsche went with high-mounted air-intakes for the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, and it has as much to do with function as it does with enhancing the fun factor.
What The Recaro Automotive Bankruptcy Means For Porsche
Find out why this seismic shock resonates well beyond Porsche’s heritage and performance DNA
Recaro Automotive is one of the most well-known OEM seating companies and the news of its bankruptcy filing has sent shockwaves through the car world. The brand has been around for more than a century and is synonymous with performance and bolstered comfort. Several high-performance models and race cars have been fitted out with Recaro seats and it has been a fixture in enthusiast circles and motorsports for decades. In 2020, Recaro Holdings was split into different entities as part of when it was acquired by Michigan-based Raven Acquisitions, but this bankruptcy specifically targets the automotive division. The company has cited extreme price increases, a loss of major contracts,s and a lack of development of new products as some of the main reasons. While their aircraft, gaming, and child safety businesses remain unaffected, the heart of Recaro – automotive seats – is in turmoil.
Porsche's Lighting Masterclass: Evolution Of Four-Point Principle
A signature design element of modern Porsches, here's how this lighting technology has transformed over the past decade
Porsche’s headlights are some of the most recognizable in the automotive industry. When it comes to the 911, the German sports car manufacturer has retained the classic forms since the 1964 original. This includes the round headlamps, which were present on almost all 911 generations, except the Porsche 996, featuring the controversial, "fried-egg" headlights. Like other carmakers, Porsche went from halogen to xenon headlights and, eventually, an LED setup on all its models. It started with the 993 generation, which introduced "Litronic” technology - Porsche’s first dabble in H.I.D. tech, only to be permanently replaced by LED technology over 20 years later. As Porsche says, "Light is identity, by day as well as by night", and the German brand’s current, four-line, LED headlight pattern is recognizable almost anywhere. The four-point LED principle, as Porsche likes to call it first became a feature on range-topping models, starting with the 2009 Porsche Panamera Turbo. Since then, the four-point headlight design has evolved and was extended to other Porsche models like the Cayenne, Taycan, 918 Spyder, and even the 911.
Turbo S Bargain: This Classic Limited-Run Porsche Can Be Yours For Less Than $15k
It's hard to believe that Porsche once gave its revered "Turbo S" badge to a four-cylinder grand tourer
Back in the 1980s, the front-engined Porsche 944 turned heads with its pop-up headlights, sleek curves, and practicality owing to the hatchback body style. Even today, it remains a seriously cool and affordable way to get into the world of classic Porsches, offering a blend of ’80s style and driving fun that’s hard to beat. However, the 944 Turbo S, built only for the 1988 model year, was special. It was a limited-edition, more beefed-up version of the standard 944.

Nürburgring Spy Photos Offer A Sneak Peek At The 2026 Porsche 911 GT3
While the highly anticipated 992.2 GT3 was spied with heavy camouflage, some of the aero upgrades on the upcoming model were easy to spot
The latest spy shots of the upcoming 2026 911 GT3 and Touring models are out and we have some juicy details to share. But to understand a bit more about the upcoming model, we need to look back at the 991 generation GT3 first. The last time that the .1 Gen to .2 Gen upgrade happened on the GT3, was back in 2017 after a three-year gap. The 991.2 received a bigger 4.0-liter engine derived from the Porsche 911 GT3 R and Cup racing cars with an output of 500 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque. There were a lot of redesigned and tweaked bits to make it aerodynamically better, increasing downforce by 20% with no compromise on drag. But, the most endearing thing Porsche did was listen to their customer base and bring back the manual transmission as an option. You could also opt for the lightning-quick PDK, both systems sending power to the rear wheels. As seen on the 991 generation, given that it’s three years since the 992.1 GT3 came out, the timing for a .2 GT3 seems imminent.

Safety, hardware, and tech – they’re all just excuses to pack on the pounds.

Safari-Wars: Singer ACS Vs. Porsche 911 Dakar
Porsche and Singer have created two similar, yet very different all-terrain sports cars and here's how they stack up against each other
Porsche has proven, on numerous occasions, that the 911 is one of the most versatile platforms. Since its introduction, in 1964, there have been countless variants of the German, rear-engine sports car, including all-terrain variants bred for rallying. Porsche offers a 911 for every taste and need, and with the 992 generation, it also brought out the 911 Dakar – a true, off-road sports car by Porsche that pays homage to the classic Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Paris-Dakar 4x4 (953) from 1984. But a US-based company has also undertaken the task of reimagining the rally-bred Porsche 911.
