Billionaire's Ride Can Now Be Yours: 2007 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet Modified By RUF

Featuring bespoke touches and performance enhancements, here's why this stealthy 997.1 Cab is worth the premium

For many, the 997-generation 911 is the last old-school Porsche. Essentially, an evolution of the controversial 996, the 997 (eventually) fixed all of the 996’s problems while exploiting the chassis to its full potential. It is the 997 generation that spawned some of the most iconic Porsche 911 variants. While the example featured here is one of the more mainstream versions of the rear-engine sports car, it has been tastefully modified. Now I know that adding forced induction to a naturally aspirated Carrera is not that uncommon, and many owners are opting for it, especially with tuners like RUF offering specially developed kits that enhance performance.

Porsche 718 With The Best Power-To-Weight Ratio On Sale Today

While the current 718 range is available in a number of flavors, we crunch some numbers to uncover the trim that packs the most punch

The days of the gas-powered 718 may be numbered, but let’s get this out of the way. It still remains a phenomenal performance machine out of the box. Whether you’re eyeing the Cayman coupe or the Boxster drop-top, you’re looking at a mid-engine sports car available with either manual or the neck-snapping PDK automatic that is practically begging to be unleashed on a winding coastal road. Now, some folks might scoff at the base model’s 2.0-liter turbo-four, but trust me, that little engine punches above its weight. But if you’re a certified horsepower fiend, the S and GTS trims with their 2.5-liter turbo units will have you grinning like a loon.

Iconic And Irreplaceable: The Last Air-Cooled 911 Ever Built Hits The Auction Block

Dubbed 'The Last Waltz', find out why this Type-993 is a collector's dream and of immense historical significance to the Porsche brand

Bonhams is set to auction a very special 993-generation 911 Turbo at Goodwood Revival Collectors’ Motor Cars And Automobilia. Officially named ’The Last Waltz’, it is the last air-cooled Porsche to be built and released from Zuffenhausen. An important milestone in the brand’s history, the Last Waltz was built at the factory on March 27, 1998. It’s too bad that I was only eight years old and completely oblivious to history unfolding. It was commissioned via the Sonderwunsh program for German Author Clauss Vanderborg. Jerry Seinfeld’s famed 993 Carrera 4S Cabriolet was finished and delivered on 31st March, shortly after the Last Waltz came off the line. However, the latter spent six months with the special wish wing of the brand getting specially kitted out with a bunch of aesthetic and mechanical modifications.

What Makes This 1967 Porsche 912 Targa Soft Window Severely Undervalued - image 191512

What Makes This 1967 Porsche 912 Targa Soft Window Severely Undervalued

This 912 is already rare, but this particular example has a rich back story, making it even more collectible

Some cars attain more value because of who’s owned them previously. Ali Khalil of Dodi Auto Sales based in California, recently stumbled upon this 1967 Porsche 912 Targa with an interesting ownership story. While Dodi Auto claims this was owned by the then-CEO Budweiser, we can’t confirm this. However, the documentation does reveal that this particular 912 was accepted by one Mr. Roy F. Bremenour, and originally registered under Anheuser Busch FCU, the parent company of Budweiser. This car was apparently under his ownership for several years until it was stolen in the 1980s. Eventually, it found its way into the hands of the most recent owner, who lives in central California. Ali drove to his home to negotiate a price before acquiring it. The car has been maintained immaculately. This 912 is the ’soft-window’ version with the Targa top and steel roll bar which was famously added by Porsche to add structural integrity to the body.

1-of-3 Carbon-Clad Type 993 Speedster Remastered By Gunther Werks Is Up For Grabs

With a power to weight ratio that can rival a modern GT3 RS, this reimagined 993 promises open-air thrills in a stunning visual package

The Gunther Werks Speedster is a rolling piece of art, a loving homage to the 1995 993 Speedster. The 993 generation Speedster is undoubtedly one of the rarest cars from the German brand ever. It is so rare that very few people are even aware of its existence. The company only made 1 prototype, which was given as a gift to Ferdinand Alexander ’Butzi’ Porsche on his 60th birthday. A couple of years later a dear friend of the automaker, a certain Mr. Jerry Seinfeld, requested that his 1998 993 S Cabriolet be converted into a Speedster. The company happily complied with his request, and his car became the first and only 993 Speedster Conversion.

Yakuza-Inspired Mercedes Meets Porsche Perfection: Autofashion's 1992 500E

Conceived in Japan, find out why this custom W124 with some outlandish mods and a Porsche connection, means business

As a fan of both Mercedes and Porsche, I can’t help but feel a bit giddy when talking about this 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500E (W124). I’m particularly fond of this era of Mercs for their tank-like build quality and frankly, nothing resonates better with that Yakuza mafia look that you get a boxy Mercedes from the 1990s. When it comes to the over-engineered W124, you’ve got the luxury and sophistication of Mercedes combined with the raw performance chops of Porsche. This particular car is a highly modified example that showcases the craftsmanship of Auto Fashion Factory (AFF), a premier automotive tuning shop based in Tokyo, Japan.

Now Up For Grabs: Feel The Voodoo Magic Of This Ultra Rare 911 Speedster

Often dubbed the convertible GT3, this limited-run Porsche convertible has some very unique options, but costs a pretty penny

The 911 Speedster was a special commemorative model released to celebrate Porsche’s 70th anniversary. There have been several ’Speedster models in the past, six generations of them starting with the 1954 356A. But this is the first Speedster developed by the GT wing of the company. This makes it the first convertible from the team after the legendary V-10-powered Carrera GT. However, that car was developed by a special-projects team.

Is This Low-Mileage Porsche 911 Dakar Overpriced Compared To The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato?

While this example packs all the bells and whistles, here's how it stacks up against the high-riding V-10 Lambo

The Porsche 911 Dakar nameplate was revived in 2022 as an homage to the legendary 911 953 rally car that was victorious in the Paris to Dakar rally in 1984. Based on the 992.1 Carrera 4 GTS, the modern reincarnation of the Dakar has been modified to venture off the pavement. Upgrades from the factory include an adaptive lifted suspension which gives it 6.3 inches of ground clearance (with an additional lift of 1.2 inches), chunkier Pirelli Scorpion All-Terrain Tires, and metal skid plates which help protect the underside on rough terrain. As for propulsion, the Dakar carries over the engine from the Carrera 4 GTS, a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six making 473 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of the Dakar is an 8-speed PDK automatic sending power to all four wheels.

Place Your Bids: Ultra-Rare 1 Of 77 Porsche 935 Race Car Shows Up For Sale On SBX Cars

Built to celebrate Porsche's motorsports legacy from the '70s, this pristine example only has 37 miles on the clock

The Porsche 935 is a track-only racecar unveiled to commemorate the brand’s 70th anniversary at the Rennsport Reunion VI in 2018. It is based on the 911 GT2 RS and is finished in matte carbon over black to give it a raw carbon fiber appearance. It is a modern homage to the legendary 935 K endurance race car and is one of only 77 units made. When it came out, Porsche offered its customers a choice of eight exterior wraps with a selection of classic racing liveries. Now the cost of these cars varied depending on the livery and other options chosen, however, they did go upwards of a million dollars if you wanted to own one new. The 935, and the racecar to which it pays homage, has a famed aerodynamic body that earned it the nickname ’Moby Dick’, thanks to its sweeping ’Whale Tail’ rear end.
