Porsche and toy maker LEGO, have had a long and fruitful relationship for many years. The LEGO Technic versions of Porsche’s best models are incredibly life-like and have become collector’s items that have adorned many a desk. In the past, they have collaborated to create the LEGO Model 911 GT3 RS, which is made up of more than 2,700 parts. This year, both brands are collaborating to host the Porsche 4Kids Summer Program, at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany. This year LEGO has developed a new Technic model of the Porsche GT4 ePerformance which will be the focus of the program this year.

Attendees are invited to various interactive activities to learn about the technologies used to create the model and the race car. The event promises to be a fun learning experience for children and their parents as well. The free program is scheduled to take place from July 30th to August 18th, and online registrations are currently open.

  • The Porsche 4Kids Summer Event will be held from 30th July to 18th August.
  • The theme of this year’s event will be the Porsche GT4 ePerformance and the LEGO Technic model of the prototype.
  • The LEGO Technic GT4 e-Performance Race Car is an RC model that is composed of 834 parts.

A Wide Variety Of Fun Stations Await

The team has organized several days’ worth of activities for attendees with the GT4 as the focal point:

  • A quiz for children with questions about the LEGO model and the prototype racecar

  • LEGO stations where participants can build their creations

  • A photo station where children can pose as LEGO characters

  • A chance to drive the remote control LEGO Technic model around an actual full-size racetrack

Porsche often organizes these fun programs for their youngest fans which we suspect is a strategy for drawing them in early. Participants will also be gifted a special LEGO brick which is exclusively available only at the Museum. As a special treat for the grown-ups, the Stuttgart LEGO Club - the Schwabenstein 2x4 e.V. club is building some special characters and landscapes that can only be seen at the LEGO Activity Center during this time, and will not be offered for sale. There is also going to be a special event scheduled for 6th August where Porsche GT4 e-developer Björn Förster and LEGO designers Ann Karring and Aurelien Rouffiange will speak about their exciting jobs. This will be followed by the official introduction of the LEGO Technic GT4 e-Performance which will go on sale on August 1st for $169.99. The Lamborghini Sián FKP 37, Ferrari Daytona SP3, and the McLaren P1 are the most expensive models in the most expensive LEGO models retailing for $449.99.

Also joining the team will be racing driver and Porsche ambassador Jörg Bergmeister, who will talk about his racing experiences. Additionally, the collaboration with a brand that appeals to adult hobbyists amps up their brand appeal even more. The LEGO Technic models are aimed more towards adult collectors than children. Even if we are in our 20s, 30s, or older, the appeal of these intricate brick models is universal. The electric GT4 prototype is a perfect example, of the type of electric cars that should soon be part of the future of the company. Also making an appearance will be official Porsche mascots, Tom Targa and Tina Turbo, who will be roaming the Porsche Museum every hour on the hour, weekends only, from 10 AM to 4 PM on August 3rd & 4th and 10th & 11th. High fives, souvenir photos, and tons of fun await!
