Here's Why The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera Should Make A Lot More Power Than Advertised
For 2025, Porsche is giving the base 992.2 Carrera some 992.1 GTS hardware, but claims minimal power gains
Porsche sports cars have always punched above their weight, and most people who have driven one will testify that nothing handles and launches from a standstill quite like a 911 does. The 992-generation Porsche 911 finally gets a refresh. Despite the first production hybrid 911 being introduced for the 2025 model year, the 992.2 facelift will not be bringing radical changes to Porsche’s rear-engine sports car. It will be business as usual, meaning more power for each of the 911 versions, along with a few special-edition models.
Porsche Engineer Sheds More Light On The 992.2 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS
Get under the skin to find out more about the fascinating engineering behind Porsche's all-new performance hybrid sports car
In a recent interview with YouTuber Jack from Savagegeese, the lead product manager for the Porsche 992.2 911 Carrera GTS and base models - Clen, took the opportunity to discuss the car’s T-Hybrid system. Diving into the technical aspects, Clen identified the T-hybrid turbo setup as the most complex feature of the car. Their goal with this system was to create something that captured the essence of hybrid performance without the traditional weight burden of a typical hybrid. Achieving consistent performance was obviously paramount, and Porsche collaborated closely with their Motorsports division, drawing inspiration from successful cars like the 919 Le Mans racer. This collaborative effort yielded a new breed of hybrid if you will, one that balances performance with efficiency,
Honda's Prelude Reboot: A Toyota Prius-Porsche Taycan Mashup?
Set to hit the road by 2026, we go over why the design of the upcoming Prelude is a missed opportunity for Honda
For five generations, the Prelude was one of Honda’s most technologically advanced models, known for its agile handling and performance features from the 1970s through to the ’90s. Now, after more than two decades, the iconic nameplate is making a comeback, in a brand new avatar with a new hybrid heart. However, the web is abuzz owing to some of the design choices that Honda has made with its upcoming sports car. The front end appears to have borrowed cues from the new Toyota Prius and Crown. Looking at the rear, things once again look oddly familiar. The tail-end of the sixth-gen Prelude features a narrow light bar and strategically placed model and brand name, that appears to come straight from Porsche’s design studio. But why did Honda make these design choices when they had the opportunity to start from a clean slate?
Performance Vs. Poundage: Is The Panamera About To Get Elephant Weight Like The 2025 BMW M5?
It seems BMW's first-ever hybrid M5 might start a trend, enthusiasts won't be thrilled about, and the Panamera might be the next car to grow “fat”
Yes, car obesity is a thing and it seems to be getting worse with each year. With more and more performance cars featuring various degrees of electrification, they become more complex and heavier. The latest offender is the 2024 BMW M5, which tips the scales at an SUV-like 5,390 pounds (2,445 kg). To add insult to injury, the new M5 is slower to 60 mph than the outgoing one, although it picks up the pace after. It seems Porsche is the only carmaker that properly electrified its iconic sports car - the 911 – without compromising its character, but another model of the brand might not be so lucky.
Akrapovic Vs. Dundon 992 GT3 RS Faceoff: The Exhaust Showdown That'll Make Your Hair Stand Right Up
Besides the evocative soundtracks, find out how much performance you gain, when you equip your Porsche 911 GT3 RS with either of these aftermarket exhausts
It’s safe to say there is a Porsche 911 for everyone. Whether you need an Autobahn missile, a high-performance convertible, a track weapon, or even an off-road-suited sports car, the iconic, rear-engine model from Germany has got your back. Back in August 2022, the 992 generation got its most track-oriented, most lightweight, most radically styled variant – the 911 GT3 RS. I think we can agree, that Porsche’s high-revving, naturally-aspirated engines like the GT3 RS’ 4.0-liter unit, are the last Porsche engines that need audio enhancements, but two of the leading exhaust system manufacturers have come up with their own exhaust systems, designed to give Porsche’s 992 GT3 RS an even more appealing soundtrack. YouTuber NM2255 Raw car Sounds recently got the chance to compare how the two systems sound.
The Real Reason Why MKBHD Is NOT A Fan Of The 2025 Porsche 911 (No, Its Not The Hybrid System)
Having swapped his Model S Plaid for a 911 Turbo S, Marques Brownlee had some interesting things to say about the latest 992.2 generation

The Purist's Last Wish: Is This Porsche's Rumored Back-To-Basics MANUAL 911 Turbo?
Three pedals and a stick could be the ultimate analog surprise with the upcoming 992.2 Turbo
In a recent video, Porsche aficionado and YouTuber ARC Driver dove headfirst into a potential mystery courtesy of Porsche themselves. While configuring a 911 on the Porsche website, ARC stumbled upon an image that piqued his interest. Initially appearing as a standard 911 silhouette, a closer look revealed some intriguing details. Wider rear fenders, a prominent turbo intake, and a unique ducktail spoiler whispered "New car alert." Unlike the rest of the blacked-out silhouette, the entire spoiler was rendered in grey, fuelling speculation of a deliberate hint from Porsche.
Beyond Speed: Porsche Tops 2024 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study In Premium Category

Well, it’s none other than the Stuttgart-based automaker. The study surveyed 100,000 U.S. new car buyers between July 2023 and May 2024, covering over 20 brands and 200 models. Buyers were asked about 227 possible quality abnormalities across 10 different categories. Porsche came out on top as the leading premium brand with a score of 172 problems per 100 vehicles (PP100). Now for context, 195 PP100 is the industry average, which is, well, not great (the Lower the score, the better). It ranked seventh overall in the rankings.
