Find out what makes this one of the rarest and most expensive 991 GT3 RS' ever built
by Amrit Balraj on July 18, 2024, 13:00The CXX Package is like an off-the-menu package offered by Porsche to their most exclusive customers. YouTuber TJ Hunt gives us a glimpse of what this package entails in his latest video. Driving along the scenic coastal stretches of Big Sur a.k.a Highway 1, he introduces the viewers to his 1-of-1 (991.1) Porsche 911 GT3 RS with the CXX Package, a gift from his wife Sabria. If you are starting your research on Porsche’s CXX package, be prepared to go down a deep rabbit hole of information, rumors, and first-hand accounts on forums like Rennlist or Reddit, since Porsche officially hasn’t released any information on this custom package.
Once a customer fulfills certain criteria, Porsche offers the CXX package to craft a completely personalized version of their dream car. The CXX (Custom-Code Execution) package also known as the ’Special Wishes’ package, falls under the umbrella of the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur program. According to TJ, his 2015 UV Purple example holds the record for the highest MSRP ever for a 991 GT3 RS, reaching $266,530 after options.
- The CXX Package is an exclusive customization package offered by Porsche to a select few customers
- This particular GT3 RS is the highest MSRP 911 ever made at $266,530.
- The CXX Package only includes customization in appearance and does not include performance gains.
What Does The CXX Package Entail?
Keep in mind that the CXX package does not offer any performance upgrades, customization is mainly aesthetic. Customers can request off-the-books custom color options for decals, leather upholstery, rims, exterior mirrors, rear wing color, interior stitching, and much more. The CXX package paired with Porsche’s Paint To Sample+ exterior shades - which offer 200+ exterior paint choices, can be used to create unique 911s. If you are curious about how certain obscure colors would look on your next Porsche Rennbow.org is a fun website that offers visitors the largest collection of Porsche pictures categorized by color.
TJ’s Porsche 991 911 GT3 RS features the following:
-
Exterior Glossy black painted trim, that complements the dark violet shade of the car
-
Racing yellow stitching throughout the interior
-
Yellow seatbelts
-
Leather-wrapped dashboard
-
A unique Houndstooth textile pattern that we have never seen on factory seats
It is important these CXX options were chosen by the previous owner of the car, an anonymous Porsche collector. TJ did initially consider making some changes to the interiors and exterior, but after a year of ownership, he considers the CXX options a part of the history of the car. The only modifications he has made to the car include a titanium exhaust system from Dundon Motorsports and BBS wheels.
There Is A Customization Level Above CXX If You Have Deeper Pockets
If you are looking for the entire list of options offered through the CXX package, owners of these unique cars compile lists along with the associated costs on forums like Rennlist and Reddit, it just takes a bit of digging. We found details of Jerry Seinfeld’s heavily customized ’Liquid Chrome Blue Metallic’ GT3 RS CXX on one of our deep dives, it was listed for sale in 2019 and it is the only one in the world, painted in that particular shade.
If you are someone with an even grander vision and are unhappy with what the CXX package offers, Porsche has a Sonderwunsch (German for Special Request) Wing that offers to build your car from the ground up. This team encourages their clientele to dream big, offering them a fully customized car from the ground up. The sky’s the limit when it comes to Sonderwunsch projects. Porsche is selling an experience with this package where the customer meets with a concierge, designers, and engineers who will guide them every step of the way. One of these customers currently owns the only Porsche Panamera in the world with two-tone paint with real gold. The only downside is the long waiting period as the brand can only undertake 3 such projects in a year, and you could be on the waitlist for a couple of years before you even get a meeting.
TJ’s video ends with him taking his GT3 RS to the legendary Laguna Seca Raceway and completing some scorching laps. He mentions several times in the video that the track is where the GT3 RS truly belongs, and we agree with him.
