Amounting to $87,890, find out how these three adds ons push the price of the 992.2 GT3 to well over 300k
by Khris Bharath on December 5, 2024, 09:00Just after a month of taking the wraps of the 992.2 GT3 and GT3 Touring, the online configurator for both models is now live. While there is frankly an exhaustive amount of permutations and combinations possible, I wanted to take a look at some of the most expensive options available. The optional Weissach Package in particular, which is all about shaving off precious pounds and hopefully milliseconds on the race track is of interest to me, as it is the first time that Porsche is offering it for the GT3. Strangely enough, it is not the most expensive option that I could find.
Now price is a point of contention on the new GT3, considering it just received a pretty substantial hike. When the 992.1 GT3 first went on sale for instance, it retailed for just over $160,000, whereas the 992.2 will set you back $222,500, before options and shipping. While $300k GT3s aren’t unheard of on the secondary market, which is thankfully starting to cool off, I wanted to see just how many of the priciest options it takes to exceed that number, and to my surprise,e it was just three. Which ones? Let’s find out.
Spec’ing A $300,000+ 992.2 GT3: Three Most Expensive Options In The Online Configurator
We’ve already done an in-depth analysis of the 992.2 GT3 and how it compares to its predecessor. In this post, I want to focus on the aforementioned three most expensive options. So let’s get right to it.
1. Paint to Sample Plus ($38,660)
Offered by Porsche Exlusive Manufaktur, Paint to Sample Plus is actually an option that is offered on other Porsche models and is not exclusive to the GT3. But $38k for paint is just a ludicrous amount of money, but I’m sure that if it exists in the online configurator, there are folks out there with cash to burn. Let’s just call it collector grade paint. Think of it as Porsche’s Sonderwunush (Special Wishes) Program but for paint. Basically, you can ask Porsche to do practically any color that you wish. You’ll need to submit a sample.
In fact, when you select this option defaults to what appears to be Porsche Racing Green Metallic (PTS Code: 22G or J1), and you’re prompted to contact your local Porsche Center for more information on availability feasibility. Selecting the standard Paint to Sample ($16,230) not Plus, at least allows you to look at some shade cards. If you’re keeping tabs, just adding this one option the price of the GT3 is now at $261k.
2. Weissach Package ($19,330)
The lightweight Weissach Package basically adds a plethora weight weight-saving measures with the use of carbon fiber on the exterior, interior, and chassis bits like the anti-roll bar and underbody panels. Porsche says that the Weissach Package saves 48 pounds, making it lighter than the claimed 3,278 pounds, and should offer a better aero package with downforce, all in a bid to further improve performance on the race track. For some context, the lightest 992 on sale today is the 911 S/T at 3,056 pounds.
While the Weissach Package costs $19,330, the actual price change is higher, because you’ll need to choose between some mandatory options.

Either those new Folding Lightweight Bucket Seats ($6,860) or the 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus ($2,640)

Either a Leather/Race-Tex Interior in either Black with GT Silver Stitching ($4,740) or a Leather/Race-Tex Interior With either Guards Red or Shark Blue Stitching ($6,220)

Obviously, I went with the most expensive options, taking the price from $19,330 to $30,920. So we’re already at $292k. Also, just over a week ago, I also had the chance to get an up-close look at the 992.2 GT3 at the ’Icons Of Porsche’ event in Dubai and the exhibit on display had the optional Weissach Package, which you can take a look at in our exclusive coverage.
3. 20"/21" 911 GT3 Forged Magnesium Lightweight Wheels ($16,820)
Priced at a steep $16,820, the Forged Magnesium Lightweight Wheels are only available when you select the Weissach Package. These lightweight wheels, reduce weight by approximately 19 pounds compared to standard wheels. Finished in Satin Black with optional California Gold paint, they feature a center lock design and "GT3" logo center caps. The wheel and tire package includes 9.5J x 20 front wheels with 255/30 ZR 20 tires and 12J x 21 rear wheels with 315/30 ZR21 Ultra High-Performance tires.
992.2 GT3 Price
The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 (992.2) has a base MSRP of $222,500 before options, handling fees, and the ugly markups. The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring (992.2) also has a base MSRP of $222,500 Good luck getting an allocation, unless you can pull some strings that is.
But with three options that I ticked, it brings our build price to $312,385 in the online Porsche configurator, which is just an incredible amount of money for a GT3. But given how the 992.2 generation may very well be the last generation to feature the 4.0-liter naturally aspirated mill as we know it owing to stricter emissions regulations, there may be folks willing to splurge to create the most unique 992.2 GT3 possible, with the hope that it may go up in value someday.
