The 991.2 Speedster was a limited-run special edition model released on Porsche’s 70th Anniversary. With just 3,585 miles on the ODO, this low-mileage example is one of just 1,948 Speedsters built. Set to cross the auction block at this year’s Chattanooga Motocars Festival, this Speedster comes with the optional $24,510, Heritage Design Package (XWW). The core design concept remains consistent with the 911 R or GT3 Touring: a sleek windshield, removable top, and the iconic double-bubble silhouette.

The Speedster packs a 4.0-liter flat-six borrowed from the 911.2 GT3 with individual throttle bodies producing 510 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque. For all the purists, the only transmission option offered on the Speedster is a six-speed manual. As per official figures, the Speedster can hit 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and achieve a top speed of 192 MPH. The Speedster features a manual folding top underneath its lightweight carbon-fiber rear lid, weighing just 22 pounds.

  • It is set to be auctioned at the Chattanooga Motorcars Festival on 10, October 2024

Porsche has a rich history of Speedster models dating back to 1952 with the 356 1500 America Roadster The 992 Speedster continues that tradition, emphasizing open-top driving enjoyment and exceptional handling characteristics. The Speedster nameplate has graced eight Porsche models throughout the years.

The Heritage Design Package, costing draws inspiration from the design of 356 Speedsters from the 1950s and 60s that used to participate in the Porsche Club races. It includes an interior sporting bicolor leather in Black and Cognac, with carbon bits finished in GT Silver Metallic.

The all-metal, gold-plated Speedster logotype, and 70th-anniversary nameplate with the appropriate serial number further enhance its uniqueness. On the exterior, the striking color combo of GT Silver Metallic with white front bumpers and “spears” on the fenders creates a visually captivating contrast, seamlessly merging elements from the past and present. The exterior of the Speedster is further enhanced with Gunther Werks GW9 Fuchs 20/21-inch wheels.
