Real-Life Gran Turismo: This Is The Porsche Design Tower, Bangkok

A building that packs design elements from Porsche sport cars, the third-ever PD Tower has several features that seem to have come straight from a video game

From Bentley and Bugatti to Aston Martin, we have several luxury exotic carmakers entering the realm of real estate where automotive design and architecture merge in stunning examples of glass and steel. But Porsche was one of the first brands to do so with a Porsche Design Tower back in 2017. Now, they’re back. This time, Porsche Design has teamed up with Thai developer Ananda Development to unveil the Porsche Design Tower Bangkok, the first of its kind in Asia and the third globally, following Miami and Stuttgart. The Bangkok tower boasts just 22 exclusive "Sky Villas" – think sprawling duplexes and quadplexes – ranging from a spacious 525 to a gut-busting 1,135 square meters. With a price range between $15 million and $40 million, these aren’t for the faint of wallet. But for those who can afford it, the promise is a living experience unlike any other, come 2028.

The pièce de résistance of this project? "Passion Spaces." These aren’t your average garages – they’re dedicated sanctuaries for your prized car collection. As is to be expected for something that was designed by Porsche, accessing these automotive havens is pure theater thanks to "The Loop," a spiraling access ramp that takes residents directly from the street to their private parking bays. Think of it as a real-life version of that Gran Turismo or Test-Drive Unlimited cutscene where you pull your car into your swanky apartment.

The building’s kinetic façade draws inspiration from the iconic Porsche 911 Targa roof, allowing for seamless indoor-outdoor living – perfect for enjoying the Bangkok skyline after a spirited drive. Look closely and you’ll find other 911 design elements like the lightbar and rear engine-cover grille, reminiscent of Porsche 911 sportscars. The architectural highlight, though, is the X-Frame structure, a nod to Porsche’s Mission R concept car that creates a dramatic entryway, ensuring your arrival is as unforgettable as your ride.

Of course, no luxury residence is complete without top-notch amenities.

The 21-story PD Tower Bangkok boasts the following:

  • A 25-meter (82.05-feet) swimming pool

  • State-of-the-art fitness center

  • Spa

  • Swanky lounges

These are all designed to complement the opulent lifestyle that you associate with the Porsche brand.

The Bangkok tower joins its established siblings in Miami and Stuttgart. The Miami tower offers a similar focus on luxury living intertwined with automotive passion but with a larger number of units. Stuttgart, on the other hand, is smaller and emphasizes integrating Porsche’s heritage with mixed-use commercial and residential living. While Miami thrives on an already established luxury market, Bangkok will soon cater to the burgeoning ultra-high-net-worth crowd in Southeast Asia.

With its innovative approach, exquisite style, and a focus on exclusivity, this tower will be the address, that will redefine luxury living in Bangkok and set a new standard for future developments in the region. It is also a stark reminder that the Porsche brand is so much more than just sports cars.
