Find out where the GTS and record-breaking Turbo S E-Hybrid fit into Porsche's popular four-door sedan line up
by Amrit Balraj on July 23, 2024, 06:00Porsche has revealed two more trims of the third-generation Panamera, bringing the total number of trims to seven, made up of three gas-powered models and four hybrid models. The Turbo S E-Hybrid is the most powerful production Panamera ever and is now the flagship trim. The GTS is the most powerful gasoline version in the line-up and sits below the Turbo E-Hybrid trim. The plug-in hybrid V8 powertrain in the Turbo S E-Hybrid has a combined output of 771 horsepower and 737 pound-feet of torque. The bigger 21.8 kWh battery charges faster and retains 45 percent more charge. The all-electric range hasn’t been announced but estimates suggest around 30 miles from E.V. only mode.
The GTS with its signature black exterior embellishments, is making a reappearance in the line-up after being absent for the 2024 model year and features an upgraded version of the previous model’s engine. A twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with 20 horsepower more to make 493 horsepower and 486 pound-feet of torque, which is good enough to push the GTS from 0-60 MPH in 3.6 seconds. The GTS has a top speed of 188 MPH and comes standard with a sports exhaust. The GTS also sits lower by 0.4 inches than the standard model.
- The Turbo S E-Hybrid is the most powerful Panamera ever with a combined output of 771 HP.
- The GTS comes with a 4.0-liter V8 with an output of 493 HP and 486 lb-ft of torque.
- The Turbo S E-Hybrid starts at $228,495 and the GTS has a starting price of $156,195

Last week Porsche announced that their new top-spec Panamera model had accomplished a lap time of 7:24.172 minutes at the Nürburgring, a new record in the ’Executive Class’. Now we find out that the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid has a top speed of 202 MPH and can blitz from 0-60 MPH in 2.8 seconds. The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is built for performance from the ground up, with the PHEV powertrain coupled with the Active Ride chassis. You can also opt for Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires measuring 275/35ZR-21 in the front and 325/30ZR-21 section tires in the rear. These tires have been exclusively designed for the Panamera.
Every E-Hybrid model has a chassis paired to a 400V high voltage system with the Porsche Active Ride suspension as standard. Each shock absorber is equipped with an electric pump that actively controls its stiffness. This allows the suspension to counteract body movement, keeping the car level during aggressive driving. The system can even overcompensate for pitch and roll, improving handling. Optimizing weight distribution also enhances traction. The car can be equipped with an optional carbon fiber Aerokit that includes front air blades, side skirts, and a rear diffuser. A front lip spoiler and a Gurney flap on the active rear spoiler complete the package. Porsche claims these aerodynamic enhancements generate an additional 132 pounds of downforce at 124 MPH.
The 2025 GTS Is The Most Agile Panamera Ever
The GTS was designed to strike the perfect balance between everyday driving pleasure and performance. Porsche has specifically calibrated PASM in the GTS to be sporty. The car sits 0.4 inches lower than the standard model and has stiffer anti-roll bars for a sportier feel. The PTV Plus is an electronic limited-slip differential that helps distribute power effectively for better handling. These changes improve stability and reduce body lean without sacrificing ride comfort. Two unique interior packages available only for the GTS are the Carmine Red or Slate Grey Neo.
In the interior, both trims feature multiple digital displays including a 12.6-inch curved display instrument cluster and two 10.6-inch screens for the driver and passenger. The Panamera GTS comes standard with a Bose sound system and the Sport Chrono package, which includes a stopwatch and launch control.
The Turbo S E-Hybrid has a base MSRP of $228,495, and sits at the top of the Panamera lineup for 2025. This is quite steep even in the hybrid luxury sedan space. The competition includes the likes of the Mercedes Benz S-Class which has a starting price of $118,450. Other excellent alternatives include the 2025 BMW M5 which also features a hybrid powertrain for the first time and will set you back a more reasonable $120,000. This is less than half the price of the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. The Panamera GTS comes with a starting price of $156,195. Both of these models are available to order right now and should hit U.S. dealerships in the first half of 2025.
