The Four-point LED headlights first appeared in 2009, on the Porsche Panamera Turbo

Initially reserved for the range-topping Porsche models, in 2013, the four-point daytime running LEDs were more widely-featured

The quad-point headlight design quickly transitioned to other Porsche models, including the 919 Le Mans racer

Porsche's HD Matrix LED is becoming a standard features on all new Porsche models, and so are the four-line LED graphics

Each LED headlight features over 32,000 individual pixels. The high beams can illuminate up to 600 meters ahead

Following the 2024 Panamera, the 2025 Porsche Cayenne gets the revised, four-line LEDs

For 2025, the 992.2 got the latest Porsche LED technology, along with an evolved pattern

Special treatment: Although the 992.2 also gets the HD Matrix LED headlights, it continues to have a distinctive LED design

Looking at the 911 specifically, the Porsche 964 was the last 911 exclusively offered with halogen headlights

The 993 transitioned was the first 911 to offer HID "Litronic" headlights as an option

The 996's "Fried-egg" headlights were still far from the current four-point design

The 997 went back to the traditional, round headlight. LED was only available on the 997.2 DRLs

The 991 was the first Porsche 911 to be offered with LED headlights

...although Xenon headlights were still available on the 991

Porsche 992 was the first 911, exclusively available with the four-point LED headlights
